AUGUSTA, Maine – Slot machines won $13.6 million of the $15.6 million Maine’s two casinos kept in July, the Gambling Control Unit’s revenue reports show, the biggest month for Maine slots this year.
Oxford’s Best Slot Month Of 2026
Players fed $88.7 million in bills and tickets into Oxford Casino’s 947 machines in July, and the floor kept $8,590,677 of it, according to the unit’s casino revenue reports. That net figure beat every other month of 2026 at the Oxford County property, up from $7.1 million in June, on an average slot win of 7.89%. The machines returned 92.11% of play, a mid-pack figure among slot payout percentages by state.
Oxford’s 22 table games added $1,053,487, leaving the slot floor with roughly 89% of the property’s $9,644,165 July win.
Hollywood Holds Above $5 Million
Hollywood Casino in Bangor netted $5,040,798 from its 621 machines, its second-best slot month of 2026 behind May’s $5.18 million, on an 8.06% average win. Its 13 tables produced $870,071, so slots carried 85% of the property’s $5,910,868 total.
Between the two floors, table games won $1.9 million combined in July against the machines’ $13.6 million. Maine runs one of the smaller commercial markets among states with slots, and the split shows where the market’s weight sits: 35 tables statewide against 1,568 machines.
Slot Levies Outpace Sports Betting 11-To-1
Oxford pays the state 46% of net slot income, which came to $3,951,711 for July, with $2,147,669 of that routed to K-12 education. Hollywood’s slot distributions totaled $1,722,575 under its 39% rate plus a $623,940 assessment on gross slot income, and its slot money also funds harness racing, with $441,686 going to purses for the month. Table games are taxed at 16% at both properties and produced $307,769 combined.
Together the slot levies came to about $6.3 million, roughly 11 times the $570,104 sports betting sent the state for July. The unit’s sports wagering revenue reports show $51.8 million wagered across four operators for $5.7 million in revenue, taxed at 10%, with DraftKings, operating under the Passamaquoddy Tribe’s license, taking $42 million of the handle.
The unit posts updated figures by Tuesday of each week. Its August tallies stood at $6.97 million in net slot revenue at Oxford and $4.44 million at Hollywood through Aug. 25.
