Bovada’s own pages disagree about who licenses it, and that’s not a technicality. The footer credits the Union of the Comoros and the Central Reserve Authority of Western Sahara. The governing-law clause of its terms of service names the Autonomous Island of Anjouan, Union of Comoros. No license number appears with either claim, or anywhere else on the site. The history behind the muddle is reported rather than stated by Bovada. Section 2.3 of Bovada’s terms of service still names five states and no more, listing DE, MD, NJ, NV and NY. Every state added since either launched its own regulated online casino or sent a cease-and-desist, and the direction of travel is one way. If your state is close to legalizing, treat it as a likely addition rather than a permanent green light. Getting caught on the wrong side of that list is expensive. An account accessed from a blocked state has its access rights revoked and any balance in it may be considered void. Crypto costs you $6,250 more action in absolute terms and buys each bonus dollar at $45 of turnover instead of $50. Neither route is cheap. Fifty thousand dollars of slot handle to unlock $1,000 isn’t a gift, and what you can expect to lose pushing that much money through a house game is the actual price of the bonus, whatever the banner says.

A correction is due on the thing most reviews get backwards. Bovada’s 25x is not a high rollover. Six decks, reshuffled after every hand, dealer hits soft 17, splits allowed to three hands, split aces get one card and can’t be resplit, and a natural pays three-to-two rather than the six-to-five that has crept across live floors. Bovada puts the return on that game at 99.42%, an average house edge of 0.58%.

Be precise about what that price means, because it’s the most misread figure on a casino floor. Three-to-two is what the game pays you when you’re dealt a natural, not a statement about how often you’ll get one. You’ll see a blackjack roughly once in every 21 hands whether the table pays three-to-two, six-to-five or even money. The house edge is the gap between how often the hand really turns up and what the table hands you when it does, and shaving that payout to six-to-five widens the gap without touching a single card.

Litecoin is quietly the best exit on that table.
